Ladies, gentlemen, and anyone in between, after the massive (and I must say unexpected) success of the 10-volume series "Boss Black Rockers" I decided to get back to work and found 280 new tracks for a new series of ten killer volumes.

Ladies, gentlemen, and anyone in between, after the massive (and I must say unexpected) success of the 10-volume series "Boss Black Rockers" I decided to get back to work and found 280 new tracks for a new series of ten killer volumes. I focused on stuff never or rarely heard anywhere else and also not already been used for other Koko-Mojo Records compilations. That was actually pretty easy. The hard part was finding a cool name for this new series. More often than not "Easy Does It" so I decided to simply (and cleverly) call it "MORE Boss Black Rockers".

28 Black Rock and Roll Killers

After the great success of Koko-Mojo's Boss Black Rockers and the follow-up More Boss Black Rockers, we've added Boss Black Instrumental Rockers to the series. The musical content encapsulates; wailing organs, screaming saxophones, maniac drumming and scorching guitar licks. Get rhythm and go wild with the snappy and peppy tempos that make you move your feet and other body parts! Koko Mojo Records endeavours to use some lesser-known and for some people, perhaps more obscure titles, and our philosophy is to compile songs of quality, with every album, its "killer and no filler” ideology! You are listening to music from the past with a remastered sound that will shake the speakers.

Issued under the rightful title, More Boss Black Rockers, The “Mojo” Man was charged with the (enviable) task of bringing these albums to life. To achieve such an outcome, More Boss Black Rockers Vol. 10: Lonely Lonely Train continues its exploration of Black African American rock ‘n’ roll by mining deep into the heart of a traditional rhythm and blues scene of 50’s America that eventually became rock ‘n’ roll, where you will hear established artists rubbing shoulders with the obscure. This is merely one segment of the attraction because the sounds blaring from the adjacent speakers is often wild in nature, raw and dangerous, just as it is scintillating, not to mention unhinged rock ‘n’ roll. Let’s face it, it’s the kinds of sounds that no doubt left many a jaw gaping as rock ‘n’ roll was ushered into the world for the very first time upon an innocent public, before evolving into the next big thing and continuing to resonate in the present with an equally feisty presence. Quick, flip that last quarter for the final visit to 50’s rock ‘n’ roll! Perusing the lengthy list of rock ‘n’ roll contenders from the setlist of More Boss Black Rockers Vol. 10: Lonely Lonely Train, any attempt to arrive at a favourite makes for an impossible task because, quite simply, there’s not a dud in the house. There’s diversity aplenty with this closing chapter, ranging from vocal harmony groups, rhythm & blues and, of course, rock ‘n’ roll. It’s that last genre which is the main focus as it makes its presence felt via opening salvo ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’ (Big Boy Myles), Jimmy Williams’ ‘C’mon Baby’, Edwin and Alvin’s ‘Shiverin’ and Shakin’, before Sonny Anderson enters the ring with Johnny and Dorsey’s ‘Lonely Lonely Train’. Further interest is generated by the vocal harmonies of The Jarmels’ ‘She Loves To Dance’, The Guytones’ ‘Baby I Don’t Care’, before shifting slightly with Little Richard who serves up a classy reminder with ‘Ain’t Nothin’ Happening’.

Betty and Rose Collins with assistance from their brother Aaron created enduring and rhythmic teen rockers.

ALL 10 volumes of Boss Black Rockers vinyl edition. Limited availability, 140 black Rock & Roll songs. 1 of 20 different slipmats incl. with each LP. Dear Cats and Kittens, dig this cool array of killer black rock and roll from the "Golden Age" of American music. So many similar projects were devoted through the years to white rock and rollers (even the most obscure and unknown) and very little to the people that not only "originated" this music and played it long before white musicians started to fool around with it. They also continued to play it when black "Rhythm and Blues" music was suddenly re-named "Rock and Roll" to appeal to a wider white audience in segregated America and became a multi-racial genre in the mid-1950s. Some tunes on "Boss Black Rockers" are pretty well-known and some are pretty obscure - even if a lot of those were actually pretty popular in the 1950s among both black and white Rock and Roll fans. Most of the artists in this series were actually household names in the "Rock and Roll World" of the '50s and early '60s. I sure hope with this great series to finally set things straight. After the massive success of this series on CD, we finally decided to release "Boss Black Rockers" on vinyl LPs, cherry-picking the best songs ( a very hard task) from each and every volume. Dig it!
