“Caddies were the ultimate expression of America's post-war prosperity and the 1950s dream. The automobile brand will be one-hundred and twenty years old on 22 August 2022, and Atomicat Records shines its headlights onto the Cadillac car with an inspiring variety of songs. The concept of the Cadillac car was the brainchild of; William Murphy, Lemuel Bowen, and Henry M. Leland who designed the first-ever Cadillac car in 1902, and this album is dedicated to them and their automobile which became synonymous with the "Fabulous Fifties." Atomicat Records Anniversary series celebrates 120 Years of the Cadillac Car (ACCD117) with thirty motorvatin' songs from 1948 through to 1962 paying homage to the gadget-laden "Fabulous Fifties" dream car. Atomicat takes a different slant to the topic, and we source songs from the genres of Rhythm & Blues, Blues, Doo-Wop, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Hillbilly. Then we dig a little deeper and include groups named after the automobile, and finally songs that have Cadillac in the lyrics. Atomicat’s seven-dimension tribute allows you can hear how the car entered into the different cultures and influenced songwriters.

This album is dedicated to Henry Ford's dream and the brand which became synonymous with the "Fabulous Fifties." The Ford Motor Company was founded by Henry Ford on the 16th of June 1903, and in that year the company produced the first Model-A car. Atomicat Records celebrates 121 years of the Ford car with thirty songs, one of which is from 1948, and the remainder are sourced from the years 1952 through to 1962. The featured songs were inspired by the automobile whether in title, verse, or simply the artists took the group name from a Ford model. The album's music is sourced from several genres; jumping Rhythm & Blues, beatie Rock 'n’ Roll, rustic Hillbilly, and sweet Doo-Wop.

The album by design does not feature the household names which are catered for on numerous other compilations. The album looks at the artists who had often one release or faded from public view but left behind a musical legacy. The album is in chronological year order from 1954 through to 1963, with the recordings shuffled around to balance the sound and style, and the concept is focused upon titles released on 78 and 45 RPM and includes some album tracks.

Issued via Koko Mojo, the person responsible for the Black Pearls album series is Ronni Boysen, a multi-award winning blues guitarist from Denmark and, for those in the know, the founding member of The Kokomo Kings (See Rhythm Bomb Records for the band’s albums because they are worth checking out!), in addition to performing with Mud Morganfield Band (son of Muddy Waters) for the past thirteen years. With such talent and knowledge given the accompanying information regarding Ronni Boysen’s record buying habits and therefore ever-expanding collection, the giveaway are the many delightful records found in this album series so far. Volume Six, “Get Your Enjoys!”, features another twenty-eight tracks for your listening and/or dancing pleasures, and mixes some well-known artists with a considerable amount of lesserknown names as well. Such combinations often make for an interesting listen, and it’s safe to say that Black Pearls “Get Your Enjoys!” continues the winning combination. Evidence for such a statement can be heard through artists and tracks including Sugar Boy Williams’ ‘Little Girl’, Billy Guy (‘As Quiet As It’s Kept’), The Lamplighters doo-wop inspired ‘Hug A Little’, Little Buck (‘So Fine, So Sweet’), and Young Jessie with ‘Do You Love Me’. What is noticeable with this particular collection is the more measured pace of the songs, and this adds variation to the album series from what’s been issued to date. Atomicat Records turn their attention towards Garner, Parker County, Texas-bred Huelyn Wayne Duvall, who is talked about as a rockabilly performer, although his music was more rock ‘n’ roll in style. The thirty-song album includes Huelyn Duvall‘s fourteen classic sides which were recorded from 1957 through to 1960. The album then showcases the lively recordings Duvall made with Swedish group Wildfire Willie and The Ramblers in 2003, and makes available for the first time six songs recorded in 2004 with the Berlin “A” team The Lighting Recordings Boys and The Mellow Men. In 2017 Duvall with Berlin-based Long John and The Ballroom Kings rerecorded in a swing style one of his most well-known recording Pucker Paint and we include this version on the album. The album closes with a vintage life show from 1957 featuring Huelyn Duvall and The Troublesome Three, which was his original group, although they never professionally recorded together. The old saying in the rockabilly music circles is “The original was better” and the later recordings are mainly originals by an original performer! The Atomicat ethos of digging deeper means you can add lesser-known recordings to your collection. It’s that special time of year once again, and what better way to celebrate the festival period than with another round of Doo Wop at Christmas via Koko Mojo’s ‘It’s Doo Wop Christmas Time’. There is just something deeply satisfying when hearing the golden tones of harmony groups huddled closely together and perfecting a balancing act of high and deep tones set to a backing of traditional rhythm and blues and, under such circumstances, the occasional sleigh bell in the background for comfort. With added “snap, crackle, and pop”, the listener is transported back to a golden age of music, and a reminder of when Christmas felt like the real deal with ‘It’s Doo Wop Christmas Time’.

Jerry Byrd’s name may not be known to everyone, even though he played on Hank Williams’ version of Lovesick Blues. This album cherry-picks the songs he recorded as a named artist, and performed on as a musician, and we aim to make his contribution to the music world more common knowledge. Atomicat Records (ACCD 146) present a value for money thirty-two song album Byrd’s The Word (with a supporting cast), which is a tribute to Jerry Byrd as a performer and studio musician.The album is embellished with sleeve notes, has a detailed session information, and is lovingly designed by artist Urban Zotel.

The Koko Mojo Songwriter Series album Crazy, Crazy Party (KM-CD-174) explores Jesse Stone’s contribution to the world of Rhythm & Blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll music from his writing skills. The album furthermore includes some of his performances using his birth name and his alter ego Charles/Chuck Calhoun, which was also a name he used for writing. The album showcases thirty rhythmic rockers encapsulating the years 1948 through 1962, and numerous songs featured fall into the “must-have” classification. In 1974, the head of Atlantic Records, Ahmet Ertegun, said, ''Jesse Stone did more to develop the basic rock and roll sound than anybody else.'' This accolade is a strong statement that Stone’s work for the Atlantic Record Company helped shape Rhythm & Blues music and made the cross-over into the emerging Rock ‘n’ Roll music. Several songs on this album often had his physical presence upon them, and the sleeve notes provide were available the session information and indicate his personal involvement. Jesse Albert Stone was born in Atchison, Kansas on 16 November 1901, he was the grandson of Tennessee slaves. From this background, a man whose identity is on over 1,000 writing and arranging credits had a fantastic impact on music history, and music fans should be indebted to him. Stone made his first recording in 1927, and initially performed in jazz clubs around Kansas City. Stone eventually moved to New York, and from the late 1940s into the early 1950s he recorded and wrote swinging jazz-based jive songs which were moving towards Rhythm & Blues in structure. One prime example of Jesse Stone’s developing style is Get It While You Can which comes from his 1948 RCA Victor session. The second song on the album The Jumpin' Jack features Lucky Millinder with vocals from John Greer and was recorded in 1951, and musically it is an up-tempo jazz-infused big band sound. After these recordings, you will hear the change from the big band to the new Rhythm & Blues sound within the album. Stone also performed as Charlie or Charles Calhoun; in 1955 for MGM as Charlie, he recorded the stroll tempo Smack Dab In The Middle, as Charles with The Four Students (who became The Cues) in 1956 for Groove he upped the pace, for the jive tempo Jamboree. Using his birth name in 1958 he recorded a double-sided 45 RPM for the Polar label, and one side Tall And Short is included. The legend from Kansas City Big Joe Turner graces the album; with His Blues Kings for Shake, Rattle And Roll, and with His All Stars for Lipstick, Powder And Paint, and solo for Flip, Flop And Fly, although the band members were not an actual group they were studio musicians. Some of the numerous big names in the music world who recorded Stone’s compositions include; The Clovers with the strolling tempo Your Cash Ain't Nothin' But Trash, The Drifters featuring Clyde McPhatter serve up a must-have stroller entitled Bip Bam, and a different line-up of Drifters vocalists, they sing the up-tempo I Gotta Get Myself A Woman. In later formation, the group members record as The Flyers the energetic hot jiver On Bended Knee. More dance-floor-filling songs are sourced from; The Du Droppers with the R&B romper Dead Broke, The Cues’ sing their dance-floor hit Why, and Jimmy Witherspoon’s superlative All Right Miss Moore should be in everyone’s collection. The album from these songs alone could be sub-titled “Instant Dee Jay with one Album.” The Eagle-Aires 1954 version of Money Honey combines barber shop, gospel harmonies and doo-wop, the arrangement is different to that of for example Caucasians Ella Mae Morse, or Elvis Presley and is a welcome inclusion in the album. Crooner, Gospel artist and occasional rocker Billy Williams sings Lucy Lou which is different from the mainstream R&B rockers Stone wrote, as it is clearly derived from the nursery rhyme Frere Jacques.
